The Orlando Rays were a Double-A minor league baseball team that played in the city from 1997 to 2003. Initially based at Tinker Field, they moved to Champion Stadium in Lake Buena Vista in 2000, hoping to attract more fans with a modern venue. However, despite the improvements, the team struggled to build a solid fanbase, leading to their relocation to Montgomery, Alabama, in 2004, where they became the Montgomery Biscuits. While the Orlando Rays are no longer part of the city's sports scene, there remains hope that one day Orlando could host a Major League Baseball team.
