Orlando Renegades

In 1985, the Orlando Renegades brought professional football to the city as part of the USFL. Born from the struggling Washington Federals franchise, the Renegades relocated to Orlando under new ownership and played their home games at the Florida Citrus Bowl. Led by coach Lee Corso and standout quarterback Reggie Collier, the team showed flashes of promise but finished their sole season with a 5-13 record. The Renegades folded after the USFL’s move to a fall schedule brought them into direct competition with the NFL, leading to the league’s collapse. Though their time was short, the Renegades paved the way for future football teams in Orlando and remain a cherished memory for fans. Were you there for their one and only season?
